Hybridbeam®

Hybridbeam®

The Hybridbeam® composite beam is a prefabricated load-bearing element that is used as a flat beam to create slim floors - integrated ceilings with a low construction height. The standard design of the Hybridbeam® is flush with the floor slab. The beam is a combination of two different materials - steel and concrete. The steel part takes on the tensile stresses, while the concrete part takes over the compressive stresses, and both are connected with each other with headed studs welded to the internal steel surfaces. All of this comes together to ensure an extremely high strength parameter of the hybrid composite.

Benefits

  • Optimal use of the facility - more usable space
  • Efficient due to high load capacity
  • Fast and temporary support-free assembly
  • Elimination of beams protruding from the ceiling and simple assembly of the system
  • Can be used in many different ceiling structures
  • High bending and torsional stiffness already in the assembly phase
  • An easy fit due to the required load capacity
  • A wide range of standard types
  • Option of resting on supports
  • High fire resistance
  • Corrosion protection
  • Ecological product
  • Protected by patent law

Product types

There are three types of Hybridbeam® available - intermediate beams (BHM), edge beams (BHR) and special beams (BHS), each in eighteen cross-section sizes. It is also possible to make a non-standard beam.

Material / execution

  • Steel cross-section: steel S 355, S 420, S 460, in accordance with PN-EN 10025 or PN-EN 10149.
  • Reinforced concrete cross-section: reinforcing steel B 500 B or B 500 C + high-class concrete C 60/75.
  • Shareconnectors: in accordance with PN-EN ISO 13918.

Basic types of Hybridbeam ®

BHM - central beam

designation: BHM Hc-Bc-W-L

BHR - edge beam

designation: BHR Hc-Bc-W-L

BHS – special beam

designation: BHS Hc-Bc-W-L

1 – Lower flange, thickness tf and overhand Bf; overall width B
2 – Webs with a thickness ts and height hs
3 – concrete core width Bc and height Hc

The beams are made of high-quality materials:

  • steel cross-section: steel S 355, S 420, S 460, in accordance with the PN-EN 10025 or PN-EN 10149;
  • reinforced concrete cross-section: reinforcing steel B 500 B or B500 C + high-performance concrete C 60/75;
  • shareconnectors: according to PN-EN 13918.

Designations:

  • Hc : beam height from the upper surface of the lower flange [cm]; standard beam heights are adapted to the production programs of pre-stressed hollow core slabs (20, 27, 32, 40, 45 and 50); it is possible to make beams of other heights,
  • Bc : the width of the beam core between the inner walls of the webs – 200 – 700 mm,
  • W: type of beam in a given project - 1 - 99,
  • L: beam length – standard beam lengths will go up to 1600 cm.
